Microsoft’s Worldwide telescope

Microsoft keep continuing their amazing things. And now its Worldwide telescope

Microsoft has released a free public beta of its world wide telescope that lets stargazers explore the universe from their PC’s. It’s a rich web application that accesses high resolution images  taken by ground- and Earth-orbiting telescopes such as the Hubble Space Telescope, the Chandra X-Ray Observatory Center, and the Spitzer Space Telescope.

The main screen of the Worldwide Telescope contains stars visible to the human eye that are mapped into constellations. You can navigate with your mouse in any direction and zoom in or out with its scroll wheel. Points of interest appear when you mouse over. You can also use the top menu or search to find celestial bodies. Here you can see that the edge of the Big Dipper’s cup does indeed point to Polaris or the North Star, which is located at the plus sign.

Isnt it great…Its definitely great:-)..

TIP OF THE DAY-Office 07

Ctrl Z is the magic undo combo. It simply undoes your last action, say, the paragraph you accidentally erased (it works in other applications, too–try it on the Photoshop filter you really wish you hadn’t applied, or after renaming a document or a folder in a Windows directory). Programs vary in the number of times you can undo something, but some will let you Ctrl Z all the way back to the beginning. (And, yes, there is a redo command, just hit Ctrl Y.)

  • Ctrl B, Ctrl I, or Ctrl U apply bold, italics, or underline to highlighted text, respectively.
  • Ctrl P prints whatever is in an active window.
  • Ctrl Backspace erases an entire word at a time, instead of a letter. Ctrl up or down arrows let you scroll an entire paragraph at a time, instead of one line, and Ctrl Shift up or down arrow will select an entire paragraph.
  • Ctrl Enter inserts a page break in Word.
  • Alt Ctrl C inserts the copyright symbol (Alt Ctrl R inserts the registered trademark symbol, and Alt Ctrl T makes the trademark symbol).
  • In Outlook, you can jump to the section you want: Ctrl 1 switches to the Mail window, Ctrl 2 switches to the Calender, Ctrl 3 to Contacts, Ctrl 4 to Tasks, and Ctrl 5 to Notes.
  • Ctrl Shift M starts a new message in Outlook. (Use Ctrl Shift C for a new contact.)
  • In Outlook e-mail, hit Ctrl N to compose a new message, Ctrl R to reply to a message.
  • The only Excel shortcut I’ve ever known, Ctrl , enters the date. (If you live in Excel, you should have the Excel Keyboard Shortcuts page in your Favorites!
  • Just Gahooyoogle It!!!!!!!!!!

This is one more Awsome site… Worth giving a visit…Just search something …on the left side of the screen u have..yahooo search results and on the right u have google results.. amazing isnt it

    Do U know whats Blackle????

One of my friend messages me to just check out www. blackle.com and i did.I was stunned at the site ….Its nothing but another version (black version of google search)….. There s a reason actually to start it…Here it is…
Blackle saves energy because the screen is predominantly black. “Image displayed is primarily a function of the user’s color settings and desktop graphics, as well as the color and size of open application windows; a given monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen.” Roberson et al, 2002

In January 2007 a blog post titled Black Google Would Save 750 Megawatt-hours a Year proposed the theory that a black version of the Google search engine would save a fair bit of energy due to the popularity of the search engine. Since then there has been skepticism about the significance of the energy savings that can be achieved and the cost in terms of readability of black web pages.

We believe that there is value in the concept because even if the energy savings are small, they all add up. Secondly we feel that seeing Blackle every time we load our web browser reminds us that we need to keep taking small steps to save energy.
